Art Of Achieving Success In MCQs For MDCAT Students

If you are stuck during an MCQ exam, thinking that you haven't studied properly and have forgotten the information or some other problem. This is the same thing that most of the time happens to me during exams.

Might be you blame yourself for not studying much, or else. So, here I would tell you some of the important points, that you should know.

Stick To A Single Resource

Before starting the preparation, you must have researched the resources which you should follow, and I am sure that you would have came across a lot of resources. And, I think you had picked up 2-3 resources, and now you are following them.

But, believe me, it wouldn't help you in exams, coz it would be difficult to revise that many resources, and retain them too. So, I would suggest you stick with a single resource and give it as many reads as you can.

Build Up Any Habit During Study

During exams, most of the time you forget the points and information that has been asked. And, that creates a panic inside your mind, and then that leads to a complete disaster of the exam. 

So, for this, you must create a habit that you should follow during study sessions like listening to a specific song, anything like a water bottle, or else that you can keep within yourself. 

It can create an environment of peace inside your brain and signals the brain that you are at home. So, as you feel like missing information coz of stress, then start repeating that song in your mind, which calms your mental state. And, you feel the same environment that you had in your home, and ultimately your brain starts working.

Prepare For Exam Center Environment

Practice your mind in the same environment as you will get in the exam. You aren't used to of sitting for continuous 3-4 hours in a single chair. 

You wouldn't have a habit of sticking your focus on a single point for about 3 hours. You aren't habitual of sitting in a totally uncomfortable chair for about 3 hours.

So, ultimately with academic preparation, you must start preparing for the environmental exam, like trying to solve the same number of MCQs at home with a time duration of the same.

Try to sit in an uncomfortable place, and give your best there. And, that can make your mind used to it.

Stick To A Specific Routine

Sticking to a particular routine means you must have a specific sleep and waking time. Also, your study session time would be specific, so that your circadian rhythms try to make your mind fresh at that specific time.

Also, give the rehearsal exam at that time, when you will give it. Like, if it is from 9.00 to 12.00 then try to solve MCQs at that time.

Also try to sleep early, as night owl people have huge levels of depression according to research studies.

Have A Mistake Book

From the start of preparation, make a notebook where you write down all the mistakes that you make throughout the preparation. And, try to give it a read and revise it as much as you can.

This will help you to remember your mistakes so that you can't repeat them again. I learned this habit from a Great YouTuber and Doctor Anuj Pachhel. Try this habit, and give your suggestions below in a comment.

Never Regret

As you are done with the exam, you came out of the exam hall. Now you are repeating the MCQs question and recalling them and blaming yourself for answering them wrong.

Instead of blaming yourself or regretting yourself, try to remember these mistakes so that you can't repeat them again. Remember that "Mistakes are limited, so try to do new mistakes every time."

Whenever you feel like you are done with this, and now you are completely blank. Must think of those who have hopes for you. 

Think of all those who are waiting to cheer you up. Think of those whose lives have a great impact on you.

Believe me, if you try to know and learn from your mistakes instead of regretting them, you are the next successful person.

These are some important points which I think if you will focus on them for a short time, then your attitude towards the exam will change completely. As the day of the exam is coming near, you will be feeling difficulty in studying.

Believe me, it will get vanish as you try to study at least a single topic daily. Coz, instead of doing nothing, a small topic is much better for an individual.
